Is Zambia preparing for war in Barotseland?

The Zambian government has placed its defense forces on high alert in what appears to be preparation for war in Barotseland. A source within the army disclosed that many soldiers have been moved... from the Copper belt Barracks to Western Province (Barotseland). The source further disclosed that some soldiers have been moved to Arrakan Barracks where they are placed on high alert while those soldiers living outside the Barracks have to report every morning by 07 hours. He further said a huge consignment of military hardware covering a stretch of about 3 kilometres has been moved to Western Province. "The issue is so serious but people don't know, I have just returned from the forest camps in Western Province where we were taking equipment that covered a stretch of over 3 kilometres and even here in Lusaka we are reporting at Arrakan Barracks by 7:00 AM hours every day,” the source disclosed.

The Zambian government has stationed its occupying forces in Mongu, Kalabo, Mulobezi, Shangombo, Lukulu and other secret locations almost covering the entire Barotseland. Early this year defense Minister Geoffrey Mwamba was globe-trotting shopping for military hardware while President Sata has repeatedly said that the army should deploy near the Angolan border for ‘practicals'.

Meanwhile we await the Barotseland provisional government's 14 days ultimatum to the Lusaka administration to vacate Barotseland as it expires on Thursday 31st October 2013.
